Programs Offered at Sesquicentennial State Park
COLUMBIA – Sesquicentennial State Park is offering a variety of nature programs in July.
The Wednesday morning programs – “Wild Wednesdays” – will focus on the many plants and animals found at the park. Each week children will explore a different topic as they uncover the fascinating secrets of birds, insects, mammals and more through hands-on activities during this summer adventure.
The program cost is $5 per child per week. This program is designed for children ages 6 to 10, and adults must accompany children. A water bottle and sunscreen are recommended.
“Hike with a Ranger” will be held on Friday, July 5 & July 26 at 9 a.m. This guided hike will focus on fitness, so participants must be able to walk 2 miles at a moderate pace. Participants will also learn more about the park, its trails, and other recreational opportunities available.
This program is free with park admission. Admission is $5/adult, $3/children ages 6 – 15 and children 5 and under are free. We offer a discounted admission of $3.25/person to South Carolina residents 65 or older or disabled and to active SC National Guard. This program is for all ages and the trail is stroller-friendly.
Pre-registration is required and space is limited. Registration ends one day prior to each program. Call (803) 788-2706 or e-mail email@example.com.
Participants should meet at the park office and dress appropriately for being outdoors. Insect repellent is recommended. Adults must accompany children 15 and under.
